From survey to tested route
How Better Commute Mumbaiactually works.
It starts with one survey and ends with a route we can genuinely stand behind — built for individual professionals, office campuses, corporate parks and housing societies along Mumbai's Western corridor.

The commuter journey
Four steps, no guesswork.
Nothing here is automatic or algorithmic in a way we cannot explain. Every step is something a person on our side actually does, using the answers people like you send in.
- 01
You share how you commute
Two minutes on the survey: where you start, where you work, when you leave, and what your commute currently costs you in time and money. That is the only input this whole process runs on.
- 02
We map it into corridor clusters
Your answer is plotted against the Western corridor — Borivali through Andheri to BKC, Lower Parel and South Mumbai. It joins everyone else pinned to a similar pickup point, office district and departure window.
- 03
Each cluster is checked for strength
A cluster only becomes worth testing once enough people genuinely travel the same stretch at the same time — the same reason a bus route needs riders before it needs a bus.
- 04
Strong clusters hear from us first
Where a cluster is strong, we work out what a seated, fixed-timing shared commute would take to run — and go back to the people in that cluster before anyone else, if they left contact details.
Built for how Mumbai commutes
One survey, every kind of commuter.
Interest is collected the same way for everyone — through the individual survey. What differs is where the strongest signal tends to come from.
Individual professionals
Fill the survey for your own commute — a single Borivali-to-BKC or Kandivali-to-Worli routine counts on its own. Enough individual entries on the same stretch is exactly what turns into a cluster.
Office campuses
A single large employer with hundreds of people arriving at one campus gate is one of the strongest signals we can get. HR or admin teams can circulate the survey internally so colleagues on the same commute get counted together.
Corporate & business parks
Multi-tenant parks — a Mindspace, a Nesco, an MIDC building — hold several companies under one roof. Interest from different employers in the same park still lands on the same pickup point and compounds just as fast.
Housing societies
One gate, many residents heading to overlapping office districts, is a ready-made pickup point. A secretary or resident committee sharing the survey link across the society helps that pattern surface clearly.
How interest is collected
One survey response is one data point.Enough of them become a cluster.
The survey asks where you start, where you work, when you travel, and what your commute currently takes from you. There is no separate portal for organisations — a campus, business park or housing society simply shows up as many individual responses pinned to the same pickup point.
Sharing the survey link inside a WhatsApp group, an office intranet or a society noticeboard is entirely up to the people who want to do it — we do not require sign-off from an employer, park management or a managing committee for answers to count.
Responses are reviewed in aggregate to find corridor clusters — never sold, and never used for anything beyond this research.
Filling the survey does not commit you to anything — no payment, no membership, no obligation to join a route later.
Contact details are only used to reach you back about your own corridor — nothing more.
What we are not
A booking app, or a promise.
- Not a cab or shuttle you can book today
- Not a fixed price, route or launch date
- Not a guarantee your corridor gets tested
- Not affiliated with any transport operator
We would rather be precise about what this is today than oversell what it could become.
Questions about the process
Before you fill it in.
Looking for pricing, corridors or what this is in general? Get in touch and we'll answer directly.
No. There is no official registration for an organisation — every entry is an individual survey response. If several people from the same campus, park or society happen to fill it in, their answers simply reinforce the same cluster. Anyone can share the survey link internally; nobody needs permission to do that.
Right now we are only studying the Western corridor — North Mumbai pickups into BKC, Lower Parel, Worli and South Mumbai. If you are outside that stretch, your response is still recorded and helps us see where interest exists for whenever another corridor is studied next.
Yes, if you leave contact details on the survey. People in a cluster that reaches testing stage are the first to hear about it — this page and the survey are the only place that update comes from.
No. A strong cluster means it becomes worth working out the details — cost, timing, vehicle type. It does not mean a route is booked or promised. We would rather be clear about that now than overstate where this stands.
Step one starts with you
Whichever one you are, the survey is where it begins.
Professional, campus, business park or housing society — every response strengthens the same corridor map. Two minutes, nothing to pay, nothing to commit to.
